GENERAL STUDIO POLICIES

LESSON PLATFORM

Lessons are offered in studio, online, or hybrid (3 weeks online, 1 week in studio)

In Person Lessons are taught from my home studio, or the Arts Abound studio (Wednesdays only)

Play-A-Story lessons are 30 mins group lessons for students ages 5-7.
- Simply Music Piano lessons for students ages 7+ are available as Group, Shared or Private Lessons:

Group Lessons are 40 to 50 mins in length, for 3+ students.

Shared Lessons are 30 mins in length, for 2 students.

Private Lessons are 30 mins in length, for 1 students.
LESSON REQUIREMENTS
- A consistent parent or life coach must attend weekly lessons and support the student between lessons.
- Please make arrangements for other children during the lesson so you may focus fully on the lesson.

Cell phones should be silenced and put away for the duration of the lesson.
BETWEEN LESSON REQUIREMENTS
- Students must practice 15-30 mins a day, 4-5 days per week, supported by the parent or life coach.
- Students require access to a keyboard or piano for at home practice. A keyboard should ideally be full-sized, and include weighted keys and a sustain pedal (not a button).
- Student Home Materials are to be utilized as directed by the teacher. A computer or tablet is required to access these materials.
TUITION, FEES & MATERIALS

Tuition is a flat, monthly rate.

Tuition includes 34 weekly lessons (scheduled September-June), 2 summer review sessions (scheduled in June, July and/or August), and min. 2 student workshop/performance opportunities (dates tba).

Invoices are sent out on the 25th of each month with payment due by the first of the month. A $25 late fee will be applied to any outstanding accounts not resolved within 5 days.

Student Home Materials must be purchased at students.simplymusic.com and utilized as directed by your teacher.
TUITION & MATERIALS RATES 2023-24

Private lessons are $185.00/month.

Shared lessons for 2-3 students are $150.00/month.

Group lessons for 3+ students are $120.00/month.

Play-A-Story lessons are $100/month.

Fees for Student Home Materials vary from $5-$30 and are paid directly to Simply Music

A family discount of 10% of the lesser tuition applies. Student materials may be used by multiple family members.

A la carte lessons are available. Fees for individual lessons are $48/private and $40/shared or group.
LESSON SCHEDULE

Lessons will be scheduled in consultation with the teacher prior to the start of lessons in September and will remain consistent throughout the year.

Changes to the schedule may be permitted as space allows but cannot be guaranteed.
MISSED LESSONS, CANCELLATIONS & DISCONTINUING LESSONS

When you enrol in lessons, you are paying to secure a specific time, on a specific day. This is your time that you are paying for, and this time is set aside, for the entire period, exclusively for you. As such, classes missed for any reason cannot be credited, nor made up, except under exceptional circumstances and at the teacher’s discretion.

If I need to cancel a lesson for any reason, a make up or tuition credit will apply.

Please provide a 30-day notice if you plan to discontinue. Regular tuition is due for the 30-day period.
CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY

"Simply Music and/or its delegates" ("SM") offers a unique "method of music instruction for students and teachers including specific approaches, ideas, techniques, musical compositions, written, electronic and audiovisual materials, Trade and Service Marks, and business or technical information ("The Program"). The Program is presented to you solely for your personal use. You will receive proprietary materials that, along with your lessons, ensure that you are being provided with the highest level of support that is possible. The Program has been developed as a result of the investment of significant time, effort and expense, and is a highly valuable, special and unique asset that provides SM with a distinct and significant competitive advantage. By enrolling in lessons you agree not to copy, alter, modify, reverse engineer, reproduce, replicate or create any imitation or abstraction of the Program, or attempt to derive the composition or underlying information of The Program. You declare that you will not use The Program for commercial application, nor use it to influence the development of any music educational program that is intended for commercial application. You acknowledge and agree that due to the unique nature of SM's Program, there can be no adequate remedy at law for any breach of its obligations hereunder, that any such breach may allow you or third parties to unfairly compete with SM resulting in irreparable harm to SM and, therefore that upon any such breach or threat thereof, SM shall be entitled to injunctions and other appropriate equitable relief in addition to whatever remedies it may have at law. SM shall also be entitled to recover all of SM's costs, disbursements and legal fees incurred in seeking or obtaining enforcement hereof.
